What women are saying…
Why attend Women’s Circles?
One of my dear teachers always says: “Trauma occurs in isolation, so healing can only happen through connection.” The places that are most vulnerable to us, where we carry our deepest wounds and where our shadows are thick, that is where we need to be witnessed by others most.
I chose to start hosting women’s circles after attending, supporting, and facilitating groups for a few years. Time and time again, I witnessed how healing it was for people to share their experiences with others and be held in difficult emotions by a community (or even total strangers). Group work is a sacred space, where I believe deep, potent work and shifts can occur.
I have set out to create a community where we could hold one another like this on a regular basis, laugh together, cry together and everything in between. As women, we have a lot of collective healing to do, within ourselves and with each other. The sisterhood and mother wounds run deep within us, often resulting in a deep mistrust for other women. We then find it hard to be supported or nourished by other women, which can leave us feeling drained and unable to replenish our energy. In addition, we may rebel against or reject the supposedly untrustworthy feminine* within ourselves, which causes us to be at constant war with our essence and being.
But it needn’t be this way. In women’s circles, we can unravel old patterns, we can let go of perceptions that do not serve us anymore, we can be witnessed in our pain and our glory. We can reshape how we relate to other women and ourselves.
We can heal. Together.
*Please note that you may want to substitute your own word for feminine, such as “yang”. I am referring to an energetic concept, not the gender.

The circles I facilitate are run in sync with traditional pagan Sabbats, also known as the Wheel of the Year. My intention behind this is to help us reconnect with our seasons and our traditional roots. Particularly in the Southern Hemisphere, there is a lot of confusion around the seasons as they are not as defined as in the Northern Hemisphere. Additionally, our society copies the festivals of Europe and the US, such as Christmas and Easter, which makes little sense as we are seasonally and energetically at opposing ends i.e. our summer is their winter and vice versa.
Since most of our celebrations have pagan roots (e.g. Christmas = Winter Solstice, Easter = Ostara), my wish is to celebrate the appropriate Sabbats at the right time of the year for the Southern Hemisphere. Through this, I hope to help us align with our own cycles and connect more deeply with Mother Earth as well as harness the inert strength of these potent points in time.
Each circle is designed around a Sabbat and aims to connect us with the essence, archetype, and energetic quality of that particular time of the year. Each one offers opportunity for sharing, receiving support and healing wounds.
